Representatives from local Jersey Mike's sites recently presented the YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga with a $44,758 check as part of the restaurant chain's annual Month of Giving initiative, according to a news release.

The campaign ended in March, when about 1,500 Jersey Mike's restaurants, including five in the Chattanooga area, donated 100% of sales (not just profits) to more than 200 different charities across the nation.

"We are very grateful for community partners like Jersey Mike's," Rosemary Dworak, executive director for the YMCA Healthy Living Center at North River, said in the news release. "We have a shared vision for giving and social responsibility."

Money raised in the 2023 Month of Giving efforts exceeds previous years of the partnership between Jersey Mike's and the YMCA, which began in 2016.

The money raised will go toward the YMCA's Community Support Campaign, which raises nearly $1 million annually and supports various community efforts such as providing financial assistance, food programs, mentoring, healthy living programs and more.
